Sometimes thing out in the big world look a little funny when you’re sitting on the tailgate of a pickup in the middle of Kansas. So it was this July 4th weekend. I was at my farm visiting with a couple buddies. Nothing planned, just the guys having a weekend beer together.
One of them asked me when the Employee Free Choice Act was going to be passed. They know I follow politics. I tried my best to explain the Republican and the big business opposition.

The additional Kansas State budget cuts are painful. A lot of ordinary people will be hurt by them. You know them, they are the people who get up every day and do the right thing. I understand tough economic times. I understand that we should all share in the sacrifice needed to right our economic ship.
