Mike Maggio was born in New York City and graduated from Queens College with a Bachelors in Creative Writing and American Literature. He studied cinema at the University of Southern California, where he later achieved a Masters in Applied Linguistics. He is the recipient of a grant from the Puffin Foundation and is currently completing his MFA at George Mason University. Mike now lives in Virginia with his wife and two children.
Mike writes poetry, short fiction and screenplays. He has contributed to numerous periodicals and anthologies, including We Speak for Peace: An Anthology, For a Living: The Poetry of Work
, and DC Poets Against the War. Mike has authored Oranges from Palestine, A Sort of Santa Claus
, Sifting Through the Madness
