Raised as a Catholic, Marty Keenan is a fifth generation resident of Barton-Stafford County area, in west central Kansas. Marty has been married to Julie Keenan for 20 years and they have two sons, Tyler, age 19 and Jefferson, age 16.
Marty is a lawyer in Great Bend, Kansas, where he practices with his father and brother. He has two degrees from the University of Kansas, a B.A., with honors in political science, Phi Beta Kappa, 1982 and Juris Doctor, 1985.
Gov. Sebelius appointed Marty to serve on the "Facilities Closure and Realignment Commission" which makes recommendations to the legislature. He served two terms as a Board Member of the Kansas Humanities Council. He was also was appointed by KDOT Secretary Deb Miller to the "Project Selection Process Working Group" T-LINK Task Force. Marty is active in his local and state politics.
