Jenifer Daniels earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I. She leveraged her non-paid college work experience to land a middle management position. Later, she earned her certification in event planning and a Master of Arts in Communication from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. After this, she moved on from her comfortable city government position to begin communications consulting in 2003.
Along the way, Jenifer has held various event management and public and community relations positions at the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Kalamazoo County Chamber of Commerce, the Detroit Historical Museums and Wayne State University. She has demonstrated leadership skills by developing her own life skills and training modules and becoming an activist in her community. Jenifer also led a team of political campaign volunteers help their candidate place 20th in a field of over 130.
Jenifer is the former assistant director of community relations at Wayne State University, where she was integral in promoting the urban mission of the university through building, developing, and sustaining partnerships in the Detroit metropolitan area. She was nominated for Crain’s Detroit Business '20 Under 20' while serving in that capacity.
She recently relocated to Charlotte, NC. Her current role as faculty at Central Piedmont Community College allows her to utilize her love of instruction by teaching the science of communication. Jenifer earned a certification in nonprofit management from Duke University, ran for the open Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools District 2 seat, and was selected to the Arts and Science Council of Charlotte Mecklenburg's Cultural Leadership Training Program 2008-2009 Class and the Information Services and Technology Committee, Mecklenburg County, NC (3 year term expiring February 2012).
In her personal life, Jenifer is currently putting the finishing touches on her first self-help book, the first in a planned series. She is also taking preparatory classes towards a Ph.D., which she plans to use to help better her community.
Jenifer's main goal in life is to serve as an inspiration and positive example to her daughter, along with other young women. Jenifer will focus her blog posts on many interests, including ways to inspire others to empower their lives.
