James Bordonaro resides in Emporia, Kansas where he practices law and his wife of 18 years is a professor of art therapy at Emporia State University. James has been active in politics since high school in Connecticut where he was raised and went on become involved with his undergraduate College Democrats organization.
James attended undergraduate school in Orlando and graduated from Florida State's law school in Tallahassee in 1997. After a clerking internship with the Florida Supreme Court, he served as staff attorney for the trial court in Panama City, Fla. He then travel with his wife to Melbourne, Australia for nearly a year while she continued her graduate studies. Upon their return to the States, he served a stint as a prosecutor for the Florida Board of Nursing and then opened up a private law practice.
His most recent claim to fame is having been the Democratic Party's nominee for U.S. House of Representatives for the First District of Kansas which covers most of counties in central and western Kansas. An early supporter of President Obama, James served as Precinct Captain for then Sen. Obama during the Kansas Presidential Caucuses.
James characterizes his political philosophy as moderate pragmatism and is most interested in promoting and developing an economy based on renewable resources.
