Bruce Fealk is a progressive activist from Rochester Hills, Michigan. He met EverydayCitizen.com's editor at the Netroots Nation convention in Pittsburgh in 2009, where they were both attending as scholars from Democracy for America.

Bruce is a contributor to statewide blogs in Michigan and also blogs for a local newspaper, The Oakland Press.

During the 2008 election cycle, Bruce's activism took the form of starting his own community television show, Michigan Progress. He waged a two-year counter campaign against Congressman Joe Knollenberg, Republican from Michigan's 9th Congressional District. Through a coordinated effort, employing letters to the editor, protests and blogging, Bruce played a significant role in helping to cause Rep. Knollenberg's ouster. The highlight of his campaign was an incident in a local drug store where Bruce confronted the congressman about his votes on the war in Iraq and against the SCHIP bill. Bruce captured the encounter on video and relayed it to the DCCC and to several other news sources. The video even ended up being the subject of a full segment on Countdown with Keith Olberman. Three weeks later, Trent Wisecup, the congressman's chief of staff was fired. Democrat, Gary Peters, won the election by 10%.

Bruce explains where his drive to lead grassroots activities comes from, in part,

"My motivation comes from a basic sense of fairness and justice. I believe that the American system of government has been abused by the Republican party, and especially by the right-wing evangelical movement within that party. I want to help make our country what our founding fathers intended it to be, a place where everyone has a chance to live out their dreams and where fairness and justice prevail."
