College was the best thing that every happened to Brad. He says college years made him the person he is. Homecoming king, debate team captain, varsity striker on his high school soccer team, Brad had been the epitome of upper middle class American youth - though he spent every day horrified someone would discover he was gay. In Brad's first semester at K State, he surrounded himself with people from all sorts of backgrounds with a variety of opinions and life experiences that were significantly more broad then his own suburban upbringing. It only took a few weeks for him to finally be open about who he had always been.
Brad had intended to pursue architecture and design, but enrolled in a political science leading to passion for political process, pushing aside his dreams of building skyscrapers. These days, Brad is passionate about many issues: national issues, local issues, and specific single issues like civil liberties. Whatever it is, he simply can't get enough.
Brad's worked on both statewide and national campaigns, including presidential, state legislature, and city councils. As a young gay man in politics, an industry dominated by 50+ men, he knows what it means to fight for what you believe. Brad's always happy to talk with anyone else with a passion for a cause. He lives in Manhattan, though he travels most of the year. Brad can be reached at brad.andrews23 at gmail dot com. We're thrilled he's joined our community.
