Not sure I agree. Maybe. If there is good reason to believe that his continuing in office will hurt his constituents, his party, or the causes for which he usually fights, then I agree. Otherwise, I have no problem with him submitting the matter to his consituents. It's up to them.
His private behavior seems creepy, to be sure. People will have different views of how bad it is. I doubt that the majority of his constituents will find it particularly heinous. What will bother them more, I think, is his initial dishonesty about it; they must decide whether they can still trust him.
In his favor he does not seem like such an hypocrite as David Vitter, whom "family values" Republican voters in Louisiana continue to send to the Senate, even though he slept with prostitutes and initially tried to cover it up. Nor does he seem like such a hypocrite as Eliot Spitzer, who preached loudly against mob-controlled prostitution but was also a regular customer. As far as I know, Wiener has never run on an anti-softcore-sexting platform.

Rep. Weiner has not broken any laws nor has he evidently violated any ethics rules in his capacity as congressman. His indiscretions and dishonesty were conducted in his private/personal life.
Apart from his ridiculous (but benign) behaviors in his personal life on Twitter, Rep. Weiner has championed many important progressive causes, such as health care reform superbly, with intelligence, preparation, and courage. He gets high marks from me for his knowledge, his hard work and his commitment to important causes.
I agree with Peter. Let the voters in his district decide if they want to keep him. Personally, I hope they do keep him, as we need strong advocates for health care reform in the U.S. Congress.
