According to Huffington Post, "Mad Men" beauty Christina Hendricks is on the cover of New York Magazine dressed in a corset. She sat for an interview too and talked about her body."
As for the body question, she'll answer it when asked, but mostly it bores her. "It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth," she says. "Back when I was modeling, if someone said 'I'm fasting,' I would say, 'Can't we talk about something else?'"As of this year, many full-figured women are showing their bodies to promote self-acceptance and "being comfortable" in your skin.
What makes mainstream media think they determine who is beautiful?
Many young girls are starving themselves and going to enormous lengths to be considered "skinny" and "beautiful". I think as a country we should promote healthy not "skinny" .
What is beautiful anyways? Does it require you to have a perfect BMI? or "Does it require you to be a size 6?"
What are your thoughts?
My Thoughts...
It's always refreshing to see someone on the cover of a magazine that does not look anorexic and malnourished. She looks like she is happy in her own skin, and who are we to judge.

The woman on the cover of that magazine is in no way "large" or "fat" or "full-figured." She looks HEALTHY.
This whole "skinny" thing is becoming an obsession for this nation. I heard of some young parents that were letting their baby cry for long periods of time when she was hungry because they didn't want her to get fat. And the mother wouldn't put her in a snow suit this winter because it made the baby look fat. My mother-in-law is almost eighty years old and she counts every single calorie that goes into her mouth. And anti-fat prejudice is the most acceptable form of prejudice in this country. It's okay to make fun of fat people and kick them off planes and not hire them for jobs.
It's really twisted.

You're right. She is a normal size but by society's standards she's "Large" or "fat". I just recently saw a picture of her at the Golden Globes and she was even smaller than this cover. Last night on the Wendy Williams Show they said that the Magazine stretched the cover to make her look bigger.
Sad...
