Women's Sports

By George Dungan
March 26, 2009

While looking through some blogs today, I ran across this piece of garbage.

Take a look at it, and read my thoughts after the jump.

First of all, of course this guy doesn't know any of the women's sports teams. If someone is misogynistic enough to write this kind of filth, it would only make sense that they wouldn't make an effort to even know what sports had women's teams.

Furthermore, the idea that women's sports stars aren't looked up to by anyone is absolutely ludicrous. Yes, male sports are highly publicized, but I know for a fact that there are little girls and yes, even little boys out there with posters of women athletes on their walls.

In all honesty, I'm not sure what else there is to say about this piece. I keep starting to write something and then stop myself because I'm either belaboring a point I've already made, or just rehashing common sense arguments any sane person might have against this article. I suppose all I really wanted was to get this article out there, and see what you all thought.

Oh, and for an even larger dose of insult, take a glance at some of the comments. You'll find men who both agree with the article, and lament the fact that female mud-wrestling isn't broadcast on ESPN.

I am, quite literally, at a loss for words.

Thank you so much, Pam, for verbalizing the thoughts that I had exactly. Sometimes I get too frustrated and I need someone else to help me out with the wording.

Thanks again!

Oh, and Pam - I didn't know you were that ancient! Gee-Zuss! You are just a little old lady! :-)
