Shriver on Palin: 'Jaw-dropping'

By Henry Schwaller
October 15, 2008

Maria Shriver, first lady of California and JFK's niece, has this to say about Sarah Palin:

Asked about her reaction - as a journalist and a member of a political family - to Palin's failure to do a formal news conference or a Sunday talk show with just three weeks left in the campaign, Shriver called it "jaw-dropping."

"I've never seen someone who's become a national candidate, or even in the primaries (like this) ..." she said.

"My dad ran for president and vice president - and you just do press every day when you're in the middle of a campaign. ... You try to get anyone to interview you on a daily basis," she said. "It is the way to communicate with the American people.

"So I don't understand ... when you're not made available, when you're not doing press conferences, when you're not doing open-ended interviews ... it makes people wonder - well, why not?" she said. "A lot of people take a step back and go, 'What's that really about? Why is that?' "

Let me see. We already had a Vice-President with a spotty educational background, who loved guns and shooting quail, who had a constituency that made big money from Big Oil, who liked to seclude himself from the media spotlight, and who consistently gave worthless advice to his Commander-in-Chief. How dumb does McCain think the American people really are?

Ya, Sara keep it up! You've got these liberals' heads on the verge of blowing up!
