With blood on my own hands I am charging We the People of high crimes against humanity.
On a November day in 2000 we had a major choice to make. We could choose between a guy that was kind of nerdy and talked over our heads, a third party candidate that had little or no chance of winning, not to vote at all, or to vote for a guy that we thought we would like to have a beer with.
Many Americans did not even show up to the polls, they have blood on their hands as well. An electoral majority and the Supreme Court chose the last of the choices.
On September 11, 2001 we faced terror unfamiliar to everyone but the eldest of our citizens who could remember the last attack on U.S. soil which led to WWII.
Letting our vengeance, hatred, fear and anger make our decisions for us, we supported a war in Afghanistan to flush out and defeat Al Qaeda. Then we forgot about the right war on the right field and, drunk with blood lust, we allowed ourselves to be told lies to justify attacking Iraq. Anyone speaking out against this action was quashed as un-American and a traitor.
We played our role in this by not questioning and not checking facts. Granted, intelligence was being used to justify this attack and we simply weren’t allowed to see it. However, those who had access to it carried on in many public statements, even to this day, making assertive confident statements that have simply been a variety of different lies creating a constant contradiction of their previous statements. This was handed to us… we did nothing.
In November of 2004, we had a chance to stop this dangerous tyrant. We, again, forgot about the real issues. Instead we watched attentively to a slanderous campaign that played deep within the gutter and consisted of little more than smoke and mirrors intended to divert our attention from the real travesty, the real issues, and the candidates’ plans for addressing those issues. Like children at a magic show our attention was directed exactly where the tyrant wanted it to be. I plead guilty on this. I let myself be taken in as well. Reelecting the tyrant we opened the doors for even more devastation to take place.
With all of our troops in Iraq fighting an illegal and unwarranted war, our own citizens would suffer. With a lack of equipment, equipment not being replaced, and equipment returned in unserviceable condition, we had little ability to adequately help our own citizens in times of disaster. The stories of Katrina are horrendous tales of the subsequent suffering that was handed down by a natural disaster and made exponentially worse by our errors.
The next tragedy is that this war will surpass $3 trillion. We don’t have this money. As a matter of fact our economy is walking dangerously close to a crash. So what else can we do but barrow extensive amounts of money from other nations. With these loans we have interest. According to the Bureau of the Public Debt, the MONTHLY interest being paid out on our total debt is $29,955,818,521.98. This is a wonderful gift to leave our children and grandchildren.
By far, the most heinous crimes resting on our shoulders are the 50,000+ deaths, including 4155 U.S. military men and women. Included in those crimes are the hundreds of thousands of military and civilians who will be psychologically and physically disabled for the rest of their lives.
In the timeline of our crimes the last one is that we have yet to force our congress to do their job. This tyrant and his cohorts should be held accountable by facing impeachment and further judiciary repercussions. More than 2 million Americans have signed petitions calling for congress to start impeachment proceedings. The Constitution details this measure not as an option for congress to play politics, but a DUTY when the executive branch betrays the people and the Constitution it is intended to serve.
This is the clearest case ever for impeachment and congress has yet to take any significant action to carry out their duty. It should be noted however that when President Clinton had some questionable business dealings from over 15 years prior to his presidency, and was misusing his cigars and the oval office, Congress allocated more than $70 million to have Kenneth Star gather petty dirt to impeach President Clinton.
Does this make sense to you? We aren’t talking about sex, adultery, or misappropriation of funds this time. We are talking about high crimes against the Iraqi and American people.
What is concerning in this election is the quick fascination with McCain/Palin. This looks just like the steps that led up to the election of Bush. She may be admirable, but that ticket is the wrong decision for America.
If you are a religious person, or even a moral person, this should all deeply bother you. What do you plan to tell your maker when asked about your role in this? What are you doing to redeem yourself?
Even as little as signing the petition and asking your friends and family to sign it, followed by letters to your congressmen can make a huge difference. Remember a forest fire can start from a cigarette, a flood starts with a rain drop, and your decision to act can make a world of difference.
This is not about spite. This is not about vengeance. This is about telling the world that this is not who we are, that we are better than this. This is to defend the rule of law. This is to defend the Constitution and our civil rights.
