What do these two men have in common? A lot it would appear, albeit not much that the general public has knowledge of, unless they choose to do some tapping on a keyboard diligently seeking to uncover some truths that this presidential candidate and his infamous campaign manager Rick Davis wish to keep buried; to the point that McCain is willing his own mind to accept lies as fact, then sharing those true lies in recent interviews for his own political gain.
Seems Davis has more to hide than just his lobbying efforts on behalf of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. McCain wishes that dirty little secret had never come to the surface, yet he shares his Republican colleagues' views that their typical voting base obviously isn't paying attention and will just simply follow blindly down a similar path that they followed George W. down, no questions asked.
McCain's polling numbers are on a downward spiral, so now he decides that Friday's long scheduled debate with Barack Obama just will not fit into his plans to repair this enormous economical woe. Obama in his usual eloquent manner initiated a call to McCain this morning making the proposal to put out a joint statement. McCain later agrees, yet decides to jump the gun on Obama's proposal and issues his own statement. In addition to McCain's thieving of Obama's idea to hammer out this cash crunch and put partisan bickering aside to do so, he goes one step further and cancels his appearance scheduled tonight on the David Letterman Show, and thinks he will postpone a most critical presidential debate that could help decide who handles this economic issue as well as many other pressing issues. It seems there is no limit to McCain's illicit behavior.
Obama did exactly what I for one hoped he would do and answered that "yes," the debate should go on as scheduled. Why give McCain more time to dream up excuses for his role in deregulating everything from the truth to the largest lenders? The American people should realize that McCain has dug this hole for himself through his own push for deregulation and now he wants to bury his head in the sand until his corrupt dream-team can come up with more and better excuses to get his discrepancies out of the mainstream news before he has to face the American people on a stage with Obama who has a major lead in the polls and has been warning others of what would come without needed regulation. Suspicion is the first thing that should enter the minds of those thinking of voting for McCain.
Based on his own role in our financial crisis coupled with Davis' role in lobbying who served as president of the Homeownership Alliance, a Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac advocacy group which has paid Davis literally hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to stave off regulations that large private banks and mortgage lenders were looking for, McCain needs some pretty good lines to woo back his base and he will not be able to come up with those answers before Friday.
He will be too busy trying to cover the truth. He is using this terrible economic issue for his own potential gain and trying to make himself look good by telling voters that his presence is needed elsewhere.
If he can't even manage his own time, how is he capable of managing this country? Besides, like Obama was careful to point out when denying postponing the debate, they both have private jets that are capable of getting them where they need to be if an all important vote should need to be cast that very night! More on Rick Davis for another day. McCain's "flip-flops" are making my head spin!
