Clinton Catapulting Too Much Mud

By Randy Leer
May 24, 2008

I've watched Senator Clinton execute an endless parade of political stunts. In fact, in my opinion, she has lead one of the most conceited campaigns that I have seen, and amazingly she doesn't even have Carl Rove working for her. She has changed positions on issues so many times that the organizations that keep track of this stuff have probably had to assign a team dedicated to updating her positions 24/7...

She has taken underhanded shots at Senator Obama and slung enough mud that, for the sake of the analogy, she has needed a catapult. The whole time, however, she has maintained a position to the press insinuating that everyone is against her and that she is being treated unfairly. All the while the bulls-eye is resting on Senator Obama.

Her latest comments seem to insinuate that she is thrilled by the idea of this or any bulls-eye being on Obama, perhaps even in a literal sense.

Again I would like to refer you below to a video that I believe provides an excellent perspective and accounting of this race, free from the Clinton spin.

Needless to say, I disagree. If RFK Jr, Sen. Obama, and the people she was speaking to didn't see anything wrong with her comment, I don't see why anybody else should.

Nor am I aware, incidentally, of any particular positions she has changed.

In fact, I am mightily offended by suggestions by some that Hillary actually WANTS someone to take a shot at Obama. Please, people. Take a deep breath.

Lola Wheeler Author Profile Page:

I specifically remember the day that RFK was shot. Back in those days, the primaries were in full swing in May and the candidates were still competing, speaking and stumping.

I was a left leaning young woman from a staunchly Republican family. The day before Bobby was shot, I had heard a speech he had given and felt so inspired. In fact, it was that day - that I understood what a Democrat stood for and it was that day that I decided to volunteer for his campaign. That very next evening, we learned he had been shot.

And, I say this to you, even though I am an Obama supporter and I am not (at this point) a Clinton supporter... Obama wasn't living in the U.S. in 1968. He doesn't have firsthand knowledge of the loss of Bobby the way those of us who were old enough to vote in 1968 do.

For those of us that lived through that time, it makes sense to have runners-up in the wings.
