Today is Community Hunger Day

By Larry James
October 22, 2007

Today hundreds of our partners across my city and beyond will join us to participate in our second annual "Community Hunger Day."

It is not too late for you to join the effort.

Over twenty years ago, Edd Eason taught me the value of what I call a "focused fast" for the sake of others.

Edd led our youth group in a 30-hour hunger experience. Our focus for the weekend was world hunger.

It was not an easy experience. However, it was unforgettable!

Today our focus is hunger among the urban poor in Dallas and across our nation.

If you decide to take part, I hope you'll share your insights and your experiences by posting here during or after your fasting.

Thanks for all who step up to the challenge.

On Monday, October 22, 2007, CDM's supporters will take a stand against hunger by joining us for Community Hunger Day 2007.

Ways to Get Involved

1. Join our fast. Pledge your commitment to go without 1, 2 or 3 meals on October 22, 2007 (no donation required).

2. Consider donating the money that you would have spent on food that day to CDM's resource center for hungry families.

3. Share this page with your contacts.

4. Set up a fundraising page to ask your friends and family to support your campaign to feed the hungry.

5. Invite your church, company or organization to support Community Hunger Day. Download our Sponsor Form as a PDF or as a Word Document.
