A Few Idle Questions on a Fine Summer's Day

By Alice Pfeifer
August 17, 2007

Could China possibly be part of a nefarious al-Qaeda plot to taint the US food supply and terrorize the nation's children with booby-trapped dolls and trains?

Which would pose a greater economic threat to the US: OPEC cutting off its steady supply of costly oil or Latin America cutting off its steady supply of cheap labor?

Does US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales seem to get most of his professional inspiration from the judges of the Spanish Inquisition?

Does Jenna Bush's engagement to a former aide of Rove's lay the groundwork for her 2028 Presidential run?

Considering the questions raised about the war records of previous Presidential contenders John McCain, Al Gore, and John Kerry, do you think a Vietnam vet will ever get a fair shake in a national election?

Where were the "PT Boat Veterans for Truth" when John Kennedy ran for national office?

Where were the "Pacific Theater Aviators for Truth" when George Herbert Walker Bush ran?

Do you ever wonder what else we could have bought for the $500 billion we spent on "saving" Iraq?

Do Russia's plans for a $200 billion buildup of their military strength frighten you when you consider we have already spent more than twice that amount on Iraq warfare alone?

Do you ever wonder about the major contributions to humanity that will be lost through the premature war-related deaths of tens of thousands of talented coalition troops and Iraqi soldiers and civilians?
